Empirical Legal Studies (ELS)
Empirical legal studies (ELS) are a particular approach to the study of law, legal procedures and the theory of law, through empirical research.
The empirical researchers of the legal area, in fact, use research techniques typical of economics, psychology and sociology, which are quite different from the legal ones. However, ELSs tend to be more focused on purely legal issues than the hybrid sectors of law and economics, legal psychology and sociology of law.
