The Strange History of Cinquefrondi

Covid was the virus that not only caused thousands of victims among people but also in tourism. In fact, there are many tourist resorts that have not been able to start again because people are afraid of getting infected. And then there are completely dormant little ones like that of Cinquefrondi in southern Calabria which has had very few cases of Coronavirus. The mayor of the Calabrian town argues that buying a house in Cinquefrondi is a real opportunity because Covid is unlikely to reach a remote place in the countryside. Cinquefrondi is one of the 5,800 villages with less than 5,000 inhabitants. The prices of these houses, 50 meters large, have the symbolic value of one euro and it is hoped that foreign investors, in addition to buying the houses, can invest throughout the country of Calabria. Mayor Michele Conia said that many offers for houses have already arrived and soon a new life will begin for the municipality of Calabrian town. The history of Cinquefrondi is one of the few cases in which Covid has revived an unknown country.
