Erasmus+ is the new EU programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport which will provide opportunities for over 4 million people, among whom students, trainees, teachers and volunteers to benefit from grants in order to experience activities concerning the study, the traineeship, the teaching or the voluntary work abroad. In addition to supporting the mobility of individuals, Erasmus + will support the realization and the enhancement of strategic partnerships among Education,Training, Youth and Work Institutions and Organisations. It will support the dialogue and help the national bodies to renovate the education, traineeship and youth systems.

Erasmus+ provides the opportunity to study abroad (Erasmus studio) at European Universitites and/or to take part to a professional Traineeship (Erasmus Traineeship) at businesses, NGO, Museums, Libraries, Foudations, Associations, Research and Training Centres, International Relations Offices and so on (except for European Community Institutions, Community Organizations, Diplomatic Representations) in one of the member states of the EU, and in other countries which joined the programme.

Erasmus+ i san extraordinary stimulus to broaden one's horizons, improve the knowledge of a foreign language, experience other cultures and have wonderful life experiences. Erasmus+ greatly contribute to a high level cultural education and offers better job opportunities in the future at a European level.

Since 1th January 2014 the Erasmus+ Porgramme has entered into force, it brings together seven existing EU programmes: Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius and Grundtvig), Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink, ICI, in three key actions:

1) Key Action 1 - Learning Mobility of Individuals:
- Education, Training and Youth individual mobility,
- Erasmus Joint Master Degrees,
- Large Scale European Voluntary Service Events.

2) Key Action 2 - Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices:
- Strategic partnerships in the field of Education, Training and Youth,
- Knowledge Alliances,
- Sector Skills Alliances,
- Capacity building in the field of Youth.

3) Key Action 3 - Support for Policy Reforms:
- Structured dialogue: meeting between young people and the youth decision-makers.

The European Union offers an ad hoc financial support to foster the participation. In addition to that, a cofinancing is provided by both the Athaeneum and the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR).

Every year the University Suor Orsola Benincasa issues a call for tenders open to all the students regularly enrolled in the Degree Courses - Bachelor's, Master's, 2nd Cycle University Degree, old University system - Ph.D., one of the Athaeneum postgraduate schools.
