| DESCRIZIONE | Il corso sarà tenuto in lingua inglese. The course provides an introduction to the U.S. legal system; topics include the U.S. Constitution, the system of courts, sources of law, and the U.S. system of litigation. Readings - Required Text: Toni Jaeger-Fine, The U.S. Legal System: The Basics - Cases: Assigned cases can be found in the free online supplement to the text Meeting with Professor Most questions should be addressed to the professor during class. To make an appointment, please contact the professor by email, indicating dates and times when you are available and the nature of your inquiry. Assessment and Grades - Students will be assessed based on a 5-page paper (double-spaced) indicating three differences between the U.S. and the Italian legal system. The paper should describe the differences identified and explain the benefits and disadvantages of each approach. Grades will be based on the depth of the analysis, the ability of the student to explain concepts clearly, organization of the paper, and standards of good writing, especially clarity and conciseness. - Student grades may be increased for class participation and may be decreased for poor attendance, lateness, and/or unprofessional conduct during the course. |

| MODALITÀ DI ISCRIZIONE | Lo studente interessato alla partecipazione dovrà inviare la candidatura
entro e non oltre le ore 23:59 del giorno 27 febbraio 2022 collegandosi al
seguente link: https://forms.gle/NLMYJMdondvb6bKM6 I dati da compilare sono: 1) Email istituzionale (nome.cognome@studenti.unisob.na.it) 2) Matricola 3) Cognome 4) Nome 5) Corso di laurea 6) Anno cui si è iscritti 7) Numero di cellulare 8) Per gli studenti iscritti al V anno: se sceglie di inserire l'attività in piano oppure fuori piano (il corso e la prova finale danno diritto a 4 CFU e a 1 punto bonus. L'esito della prova finale è espresso in trentesimi. Se in piano, tra i CFU a scelta dello studente, il voto finale farà media). Gli studenti iscritti al IV anno potranno far inserire l'attività SOLO fuori piano. Entro il giorno 3 marzo 2022 sarà pubblicato un avviso con l'elenco degli studenti che si sono candidati. Si prega quindi di non inviare richieste di partecipazione se non realmente interessati. |
